Myrmidon takes great pride in its coaching staff, who offer our students a vast wellspring of knowledge. With accolades nationwide, our instructors are accessible to all students without caste or level-based restrictions. Before enrollment, we encourage students to get to know our instructors and tap into their expertise. In addition to high-level instruction, Myrmidon also provides unconventional fitness training. Established in 2010 by Dan Kolbasowski and Ryan Lancaster, local coaches committed to producing wrestling champions and ambassadors, Myrmidon instills a passion for the sport on and off the mat.

DAN KOLBASOWSKI 

WRESTLING INSTRUCTOR, BUILDING ADMINISTRATOR 

  • Dan "Kobo" Kolbasowski is a highly accomplished combat sports athlete and coach with a wealth of experience in various disciplines. As a former JUCO wrestler in 2003, he has competed at a high level and has remained involved in the sport ever since. Dan has also served as the head referee for MUSAW Submission Grappling, where he has demonstrated his expertise in officiating matches.

    With an undefeated record in the MUSAW Legacy Duals Division, Dan has proved to be a formidable opponent in competitions. He has also competed as a professional MMA athlete, showcasing his skills and dedication.

    In addition to his competitive achievements, Dan is a two-stripe blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu and has served as the Myrmidon MMA fight coach and cornerman. He was also awarded the Bronze Medal in the 2023 Veteran Greco Nationals, demonstrating his continued commitment to competition and excellence in combat sports. As an NCEP Bronze Level Coach, Dan is highly respected in the community and has helped many aspiring athletes reach their full potential.

RYAN LANCASTER

WRESTLING INSTRUCTOR

Ryan Lancaster is an NCEP Bronze Level Coach with an impressive track record. He has twice been recognized as the MWA Regional Girls Coach of the Year and is a 2008 NCWA All-American. Lancaster was also a member of the 2008 NCWA National Champion Team, a 2003 USAW Collegiate All-American, and a 2003 NJCAA Academic All-American. In 2002, he qualified for the MHSAA State Championship.

Lancaster has won numerous MUSAW State Championships and has been a member of several national and international teams. As a head coach, he has achieved 100 dual career wins and has coached dozens of All-State and All-American wrestlers.

 

JEFF ANDERSON

Wrestling Coach 

Jeff Anderson is a highly experienced college-level coach with almost a decade of expertise. He has a vast international experience in a competition spanning numerous years. He is a decorated athlete with several UWW Veteran World Medals and has clinched multiple USAW Veteran National Titles in 3 different styles.
